Free speech and The Underground
Free speech and The Underground
Freedom of speech.
Rules on speech.
Kind of contradictory at first glance isn't it? Of course people have the right to say whatever they want just as site owners have a right to say what's suitable on their platform. Then there are other considerations, these days your host can shitcan you very quickly if you don't meet their standards. Obviously for sites such as LL there is a little more sway but on here maybe not so much.
I've tried to ensure you'll never be censored for your opinions, your beliefs, your political inclination. There's no need for that nonsense anywhere in my opinion though, as I pointed out, other site owners might disagree. It's all about choice.
I've never had much in the way of a plan for Trigger Warning, it just kind of happened. But I think we can do something here. Nothing huge but something cool. To do this, and meet what I consider to be my own standards, we need a level of freedom beyond what the open forums allow. Sure, we still have to protect our users from real life harm but less rules in an environment which is completely opt in can only be cool.
You can now opt in to join The Underground user group. Sure it's quiet right now but in that section, hidden from the public, you'll find some different rules.
So, let's see how this goes and tell your friends (low key style and stuff...I think that's how the kids talk now) and let's see if we can have one last bastion of dontgiveafuckery left.
To gain access to The Underground simply head to your UserCP and go to Usergroups and join the group.

Re: Free speech and The Underground
Still haven't figured out how to get to the underground.
Meh....that's just me. I will eventually.

BUMP
So what's the story with the underground?
I see myself and a list of others in the group , but that's about it.
Says you must read the rules, but I see none nor a link to them or any thread starting tools etc.
Is this just on my end? or has this section of the forum just not been completed/activated?
A more "private" section of the forum where you MUST be a member to read would be a nice feature , aside from the new social group.
