User Blocking

Post by BurntBulb » Fri Apr 13, 2018 1:22 am

When I log into the site I get this popup...

'Your browser is blocking some features of this website. Please follow the instructions at http://support.heateor.com/browser-bloc ... -features/ to unblock these. If you don't want to you'll still see the articles and other goodness. It's all good'

I followed the link, but found it wanted to change the setting in firefox globally.
I know Firefox, and my add-ons, well enough not fall for this 3rd party crap.
If I know of the 'features' that are being blocked, I can set the limits of firefox and my add ons, to accept these strings, cookies and features.
Globalism sucks!

But the site still works for me, so it may not be that important.

It's mostly for the social media aspects such as feeds and sharing. If that doesn't impact you then it shouldn't be a problem. We just like to make sure folks know their settings MAY cause them to miss something.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't 'share', but seeing feeds would interest me.
I'll go into my FF settings and 'allow' for TW.
I don't even do that for LL, let alone any other site.

See how much I like you! ;)
But don't tell bran that. :?
I'd never hear the end of it! :(

I've been emailing with some old LLF users that are saying they can't get to TW.
Gerryowen and ragby are 2 I've been trying to help resolve this problem.
Only thing I can think of is for them to go into their internet properties and their security suite to check setting like how high the security is set, whether .TV's are blocked globally, whether site cookies are being accepted, clearing the browsing history and cookies, things like that, or as a last resort forcing acceptance of TW as a valid site.

I heard from Ragby last night and he says his computer is saying this:

www.triggerwarning.tv is not allowing us to get to the site.
Try this
• Checking the connection
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

He didn't say whether he tried any of my suggestions.
So I'm emailing him later with some links on how to do these things in case he hasn't tried them.
Haven't heard from GO lately, but he's like bran, needs a lot of hand holding!

Any suggestions you guys might have to resolve this would be appreciated.
You can email me directly, or post them here, even on FB.

Helping people long distance can get frustrating at times!

Tell them to look in the
about:preferences

Type that in the url on FF.
FF should be version 62

Heard back from Ragby. Seems he's using his smart phone as his internet access, 'cause he doesn't have a 'puter.
An android using edge.
I've never used my phone for data, so I don't know if that's influencing this problem.
Probably not, since others seem to be able to get here through their smart phones.

From my searches on this, the clearing of history and cookies seems to be the 1st recommendation.
Maybe that's even more important on a phone. IDK.
