Linux functionality
Linux functionality
Hi Hayden.
Just wanted to ask if it's my imagination or what when I use my linux install to log in, it's impossible to post. The site simply doesn't respond. Is there a reason for that? I've had to use an older Win7 rig to post this. It's consistent after trying a few times on the linux rig.

Re: Linux functionality
I am not sure whats up here but if need be I can chunk a mirror asset together real quick and likely tell ya whats up by mimicking your browsers net destinations.. I would need to know your terminals software, distro and browser. You can pm it to me if you choose to, just an offer. Just the main stuff, and nuttin personal. also I might need your repositories addys you grabbed your packages from. Believe it or not a lot of ftp's have different variations of the same packages. I have resolved many open source conflicts for this reason alone. Welcome to open-source I guess.

Re: Linux functionality
Actually, before you do all that. Try grabbing a different browser package from a supportive distro repository. Just a complete different browser, opera/chrome/firefox/Chromium(Better than Chrome)/Midori(like old Opera)Vivaldi(Pretty good), and so on. Lots of them out there. That might fix the issue alone.

all jokes aside, I'm talking to a half dozen ex-LLF users that can't even see the site, let alone even register, or log-in.
I try to explain how to change their settings....but they're neophytes. They don't even know what I'm talking about.
Email, text, or phone calls don't do any good. It's like a virtual Keystone Cops!
Got any advice on how I can help our friends?
A good example is .... Bran... he can't get to
https://social.triggerwarning.tv/
Any help you can give him, we would all appreciate.

bran probably just needs new code and to use it when they open the doors again, or check his spam folder for the confirmation link.BurntBulb wrote: ↑Sat Oct 13, 2018 3:48 amOh, philo wants a repository!philomath wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 4:48 amActually, before you do all that. I saw he said his code didn't work , I got in with mine that same day later on.
I saw previously others had the same issue and a new invite code got them in.
*RE YOU READING THIS BRAN? pm that TW fella or Hayden and ask for a new code.
(not even sure why bran would be in this thread lol, I'll post this elsewhere)
Not sure about the others, they can't follow a link to the TW forum?

From what he's said, he's tried the codes, but no JOY!Zero wrote: ↑Sat Oct 13, 2018 4:28 ambran probably just needs new code and to use it when they open the doors again, or check his spam folder for the confirmation link.BurntBulb wrote: ↑Sat Oct 13, 2018 3:48 amOh, philo wants a repository!philomath wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 4:48 amActually, before you do all that. I've tracked TW around the nodes, it's all there. no reason why someone can't find TW sites.

Re: Linux functionality
I'm on the linux workstation now, after updating the kernel and several libs. Seems to be a bit better. It took two attempts, the first errored out.

Re: Linux functionality
just read an article about a tech writer, as an experiment, decided to leave the big 4 (or is it 5 or 6?).
Here's the article
https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/arti ... ook-amazon
He get's a little effusive about his travails, and doesn't really tell me anything I didn't already know.
Except for one thing...the big four (or is it 5 or 6?) use Linux, with proprietary add-ons, for their cloud, customer and vendor interface, internal commo and financial and tax management.
Seems the BIG 2 (MS and Apple) may have abandoned their own OS, to adapt it to the many open source OS's.
several things occurred to me:
The ma[ Monopolyn patents and copyrights of all OS's should now be set-aside and revoked.
Apple, Google, Facebook and Amazon should re-reimburse the development charges to developer, by scale.
From what I understand, this is the basic violation of monopoly.
